Garbage and recycling is the responsibility of Northumberland County. Garbage disposal at the Hope Transfer Station is available to Port Hope Rural Ward residents only. Residents in the Urban Area of Port Hope receive curbside garbage pick up.

New Years Day: Monday, January 1
Family Day: Monday, February 19
Good Friday: Friday, March 29
Victoria Day: Monday, May 20
Canada Day: Monday, July 1
Labour Day: Monday, September 2
Thanksgiving Day: Monday, October 14
Half Day Christmas Eve: Tuesday, December 24
Christmas Day: Wednesday, December 25
Boxing Day: Thursday, December 26 (site closed on Thursdays)
Half Day New Years Eve: Tuesday, December 31
The Waste Transfer Site will remain OPEN on the following General Holidays
Easter Monday: Monday, April 1
Civic Holiday: Monday August 5
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation: Monday, September 30
